We recently hosted an AMA with AirDAO on February 9th at 2 PM UTC. Many of you might have participated, or many of not. But we make sure no one missed out on the knowledge shared by Lang Mei, CEO at AirDAO. So here we are up with the AMA transcript; for those who missed the live session, this blog post will be a saver & feeder of knowledge for them.

Q1. Could you please introduce AirDAO to our community in layman’s terms?

Ans — AirDAO was previously known as Ambrosus — but the powerful features of its blockchain were restricted by Ambrosus focusing on an extremely limited number of use cases. Because of this, it was reborn as AirDAO — with a renewed vision to unlock all the endless possibilities the network offers.

The AirDAO vision is a web3 ecosystem powered by our community-owned, DAO-governed blockchain. At AirDAO, we focus on making the web3 experience as user-friendly as possible, with simple interfaces for powerful products. AirDAO’s current ecosystem is the essential products that DeFi users need in an ecosystem — with a Network Explorer, DEX, Staking, and Bridge. All these products are available through our Dashboard, an easy-to-use interface for all our powerful features.

Q2. Please explain the Tokenomics of AirDAO?

Ans — Currently, AirDAO’s AMB token serves as the native token of AirDAO. It is the medium of exchange within the AirDAO ecosystem and is the gas needed for transactions. It is also a utility token, powering the network by being staked in validator nodes, which are the nodes responsible for verifying and executing transactions. AirDAO’s Tokenomics are currently in the final stages of an overhaul, unlocking the possibilities for exciting new features and token use cases!

Q3. Could you please enlight more on your mobile APP?

Ans — The mobile app is something we have planned to create since we launched AirDAO. Mobile users are underserved in crypto for various reasons, and often many projects and products treat it as an afterthought. We have an ultimate vision of a mobile DeFi experience that is as easy to use as a web2 app or a TradFi banking app whilst having all the features you’d expect from a DeFi ecosystem. We want the app to be like an app store, where you can access all of AirDAO’s powerful web3 products in one place whilst still being user-friendly. Questions Asked on Twitter for AirDAO Team!!

Q1. You guys announced in the whitepaper something about AirDAO phase 2.0 but I don’t know much about the new product integrations. What are the new products that were integrated due to the arrival of phase 2.0? Is it possible that AirDAO will launch a phase 3.0 this year?

Ans — So to answer this, Ambrosus could be considered the ‘phase 1.0’. Ending Ambrosus and creating AirDAO so that the use cases could be expanded and the full power of the blockchain can be realized is ‘phase 2.0’. This phase included the creation of the foundation of a DeFi ecosystem with our DEX, Staking, Bridge, and Explorer products. I think the redesign of the tokenomics to unlock more use cases and features, and the transition to DAO governance, could be considered ‘phase 3.0’.

Q2. AirDAO says it vision for the future of DeFi is to reduce the current complexity of Web3 with simple interfaces through it single dashboard, whilst making it frictionless for anyone in the world to onboard into our ecosystem. Hope this won’t require sacrificing security of the platform or do you think it’s actually possible to achieve simplicity and still ensure maximum security?

Ans — I think security and simplicity are closely related qualities — the simpler something is, the more secure it can be. Also, our blockchain is highly secure. It currently has ~540 nodes in the network. You can check out the number of nodes using our explorer: www.airdao.io/explorer.

Q3. I read that AirDAO is running a Bootcamp,which will take place from February 13–17. Since they mention that it will be interactive weeks. What do you have planned to connect with the community in depth through this event,and make known the direction of your project in the future?

Ans — The Bootcamp sessions will communicate the direction of our project as well as educate the community on other topics. At the end of every Bootcamp session is a question and answer session so the community can join in the discussion about the topic the team member has presented. Q4. At the moment AirBridge only bridges between two chains: ETH and BSC. My question is, do you plan to add more chains to your bridge in the future? and also, how do you maintain a bridge with zero fees?

Ans — We definitely plan to add support for other chains to our Bridge in the future. Ethereum and BNB Chain were chosen first as they are the two most popular layer-one blockchains. We reduced the bridging fee to zero so users can bridge their crypto to AirDAO and only pay network fees, we think it’s a good incentive to get users to explore all that AirDAO offers.

Q5. Will these Bootcamp events really only take place once a year, or monthly? I ask you, why would this be the mechanism they used to train users to use their products? Or will the training be through your academy, which will be a different product?

Ans — AirDAO Bootcamp will not take place as regularly as monthly, and it won’t be more often than every 3 months or longer. Bootcamp isn’t the only way users can learn about our products; for example, we have www.airdao.academy. Our AirDAO Academy website has written guides for our products, and we are currently working on finishing video guides for all of them too. AirDAO Academy also has straightforward explainers for various DeFi topics such as, ‘what is a crypto wallet’. It’s a great resource for the community to learn from — check it out!

Q2. I noticed that $AMB token staking is already enabled within AirDAO. Can you tell us the details to start participating? How much is the minimum I need to join? Is there only one AMB pool or do you also offer mixed pools so that we can earn other popular tokens from the Ambrosus Network ecosystem?

Q3. AirDAO has communities in LATAM, as a Latin American, I know that cryptocurrencies can have a special boom within my continent. However, not many are the projects that venture to create communities within mine. So, what is the interest that AirDAO has for this specific community?

Q6. I read that their mission is to make AirDAO the easiest to use web3 ecosystem of all, but to achieve this, is it that they will have the simplest interface and tools of DeFi? Or that they simply seek to train users before they can use their services?

Ans — We aim to make the best web3 user experience possible so everyone can use our products — irrespective of whether they are experienced in DeFi or just getting started in crypto, and we create powerful products with straightforward and simple interfaces to achieve this. Finally, we also have AirDAO Academy for the community to learn from.

Q7. Will AirDAO always work with AMB token or do you plan in the future to have your own token and not directly from Ambrosus Network?

Ans — As mentioned before, AirDAO was previously known as Ambrosus. We launched AirDAO with a renewed vision to unlock the full possibilties of the Ambrosus Network. It is the blockchain that powers all of AirDAO’s dApps, and AMB is the native token of AirDAO.

Q8. What is “Firepot Swap” ? Is it built by AIRDAO TEAM Members or not, Can you please tell us more about it?
