We recently hosted an AMA with PolkaPets Worlds, on October 26th at 11 AM UTC. Many of you might have participated or many of not. But we make sure no one missed out from the knowledge shared by Charles Stanton, CMO at PolkaPets World So here we are up with the AMA transcript, for those who missed the live session, this blog post will be a saver & feeder of knowledge for them.

Q1. Could you please introduce PolkaPets to our community in layman’s term?
Ans — PolkaPets was created as a vehicle to introduce audiences to the Polkadot network through colourful characters, each connected to a specific project in the Polkadot ecosystem. Each pet is a partnership with that project, and has unique utilities attributed to it.
Each PolkaPet holds unique project-specific utility that rewards community members for holding that specific PolkaPet NFT in their wallets. This could be a discount on fees, an airdrop of tokens to PolkaPet cardholders, or much more.
Our mission is to bring users closer to the Polkadot ecosystem through an engaged network of partners and games, all involving our popular PolkaPet characters and the $PETS token is a huge evolution for us in achieving that vision!
Q2. How PolkaPets will be able to add utility as NFT to partnered projects?
Ans — So because each limited edition pet is connected to a specific Polkadot project it comes with special perks and utilities connected to that project.
For example you get entry to the Zendit Launchpad with your MANTRA DAO pet, a free VPN router with your SpiderDAO pet, and recently owners of the Moonbeam pet got $2500 of GLMR allocation for the Moonbeam ‘Take Flight’ event! PolkaPets have always tried to surprise and delight buyers.
Q3. What are the major milestones PolkaPets achieved so far & what are in the future pipeline?
Ans — Our biggest achievement is the onboarding of 21 of the biggest projects in Polkadot into our shared vision, getting some incredible perks for our pet holders, with many more still to come.
Most recently of course our new $PETS token is a massive achievement, with some of the biggest investors backing it (such as Animoca Brands, Skyvision Capital, DFG, JSquare, Waterdrip) and some of the biggest projects too, like Sandbox, Kylin, Bridge and MANTRA DAO.

Q1. PolkaPets is a one-of-a-kind NFT concept that promotes participation in the Polkadot ecosystem by partnering with some of the projects. What kind of cryptocurrency is used on this platform? What profit or value does the project bring to the owners who participate?
Ans — Love this question! The $PETS token is the utility token used to engage with PolkaPet World products and services, offered in partnership with PolkaPet project partners to bring lots of utility, as well as allowing governance rights and access to exclusive NFT sales.

Q2. I saw on your website that Polka Pet World mini-games will be available soon. Could you tell us a little about the features of these games and approximately when you expect to have them available? Is there any requirement to participate in them?
Ans — engaging and will eventually feature a P2E model to earn $PETS tokens. In terms of game features we’ll be releasing more details soon! However we don’t want to make these too exclusive so you’ll be able to participate easily enough, just keep following our channels, get yourself some $PETS, and ideally a PolkaPet or two!
Q3. Can PolkaPet cardholders develop applications and technology to support future NFTs themselves? How will we benefit from voting support in this area?
Ans — We don’t currently have plans to allow PPW cardholders to develop applications themselves but we’ll certianly have lots of DeFi products you can participate in!
As for governance, we will be allowing our community to vote on everything from new pet art, projects that become pets, and also future utilities for some of the cards
Q4. Could you show us which will really be the strongest, strangest monster cards and which one is your favorite? or if they are not fully developed yet, then when can we find out about these different cards?
Ans — Oooo, i’ve never had this question before! Well we’ve designed the PolkaPet characters to have a broad range of strengths and weaknesses that mean that no single pet is stronger than another in any conclusive way. In terms of my favourite? Personally I love the Plasm tiger (soon to be Astar tiger!) — he was super popular with the community and has a powerful ‘double shock’ attack!
Q5. From my perspective, PolkaPet World is a unique opportunity to bring together so many key Polkadot projects and add utility to the PolkaPets NFTs, but with such a diversity of projects at Polkadot. How do you integrate a specific area into a gamified NFT creating a Pet world?
Ans — Each pet has their own unique utility within their project’s ecosystem, so as mentioned before (for example) the MANTRA DAO pet grants the holder special utility for the project — access to ZENDIT. In terms of how we bring all these diverse projects together it’s simple — the characters are designed in a way that work within a gaming/collectibles environment and the projects themselves add the utility to their pets. This way holders get the best of both worlds!

Q1. What are the competitive advantages of this Polkapet among other NFTs platforms?
Ans — Great question! It’s a highly competitive landscape for sure. Key advantages are:
Driving loyalty: PolkaPets boosts brand loyalty for participating projects. I.e. MANTRA DAO
Filled with Utility: Our NFTs link to Polkadot projects and have unique utilities I..e Allocation of GLMR for owning Moonbeam’s pet
Sustainability: The project has a sustainable business model built to drive more project adoption.

As we mentioned, one of our biggest backers is Animoca Brands, a highly respected NFT and blockchain games company. We also have partnerships with over 20 Polkadot ecosystem projects who will help us create a gaming environment that’s truly cross-project and will bring a range of utilities we think will help us stand out.
Q2. Having significant sponsors in this space, including Animoca Brands, is a testament to the strength of the $ PETS token and matches the team’s ambition to make PolkaPets World a leading Polkadot project. That said, who are the main partners that have joined PolkaPet?
Ans — We have some incredible partners! Not only do we have 21 key Polkadot projects who already have pets attached to them (see our collection for details: opensea.io/collection/polkapets) but we also have some big investment partners. We recently had an article featured in CoinTelegraph about this!
Q3. A strong community not only brings interesting ideas to the project but also attracts bigger partners/investors. So how does PolkaPet plan to build its community? Please explain. And what are the benefits if we hold PolkaPet NFT in the long term?
Ans — Our community growth strategy is simple — we plan to ensure our project partners promote their pets to their community as well as our own community, meaning we have a huge potential audience of PolkaPet fans!
The use of the $PETS token, and pet utility, encourages our audiences to investigate different Polkadot projects, and hopefully they’ll continue to reap the benefits of owning these pets as Polkadot grows as a network

Q5. Did you consider community feedback/requests during the creation of your product to extend fresh ideas for your project?
Ans — Yes absolutely, in fact we asked our community to vote on the final artwork for the upcoming ‘Fenix’ special edition pet! Going forwards you’ll be able to use your $PETS in a DAO to vote on many things, including pets, rewards, artwork, storylines and more!
Q6. What do you think the future trend of DeFi is? What is the biggest flaw that DeFi is currently facing? And is the PolkaPet project looking to solve that problem?
Ans — Good question! DeFi has many many advantages but some key issues include cost to interact with the smart contracts, security and distinctiveness. We plan to solve this by launching DeFi products on the Polkadot network through our partners, allowing fast, cheap, secure opportunities to stake $PETS. In terms of being distinctive we plan to utilise our partnerships with other projects to bring other tokens and NFTs that can be earned on our platform, meaning more incentives to use our products! Pretty cool right?
Q7. If a competitor appeared today offering the same services as PolkaPet, what would you do?
Ans — Well that would be a surprise! They would have to have secured over 21 different partnerships with Polkadot partners we’ve already engaged with, and build an engaged community of Pet holders. But in all seriousness we have huge plans for the project including use of the Pets as IP in games and environments beyond our own through our investment partners and we really believe we have a unique opportunity that can’t be easily replicated 😊
