We recently hosted an AMA with Kaby Arena, on September 1st at 2PM UTC. Many of you might have participated or many of not. But we make sure no one missed out from the knowledge shared by Nhan Bui, Co-Founder & CEO at Kaby Arena. So here we are up with the AMA transcript, for those who missed the live session, this blog post will be a saver & feeder of knowledge for them.

Q1. Could you please introduce Kaby Arena to our community in layman’s term?
Ans — Kaby Arena is a Free-to-Play turn based NFT game where everyone can start playing without the need of any investment. Kaby Arena also employs the Play-to-Earn model to reward players with tokens and equipment through dynamic gameplay and participation in PvP tournaments.
With this seamless combination of the F2P and P2E models, Kaby Arena gives players the opportunity to play and profit at the same time.
Kaby Arena has successfully completed our fundraising campaign on 31 August, which totalled to $1.6M capital. Q2. What are the advantages of Kaby Arena to other alternatives in the Blockchain field?
Ans — Our advantages over other projects are of three major points:
- The combination of F2P & P2E. As far as I know, most NFT games require players to invest first to play the game or to start earning. It is a great barrier to casual players. The consequence is that most games have low daily active users. 5k~6k at most. (The exception is Axie Infinity ofc, but it took them 3 years to get to where they are today). With Kaby Arena players can earn right away from the start. With skills & strategy & some luck, they can even win big in tournaments.
- We have a strong foundation as an established Game Studio. Therefore, we can develop Kaby Arena in a swift manner. If you take a look at our roadmap at https://kabyarena.com/roadmap, you can see that we will have a demo by October and the actual game will come out in November which is only 3 months after the IDO. We believe this rapid development of the game will capture the hype of the community and bring a good reputation to our project.
- Competitive oriented gameplay. F2P brings us a broader audience, and competitive gameplay helps us retain them. All successful F2P games have their competitive scenes: FortNite, LoL, CS:GO, Dota 2, etc. By following those giants’ footsteps , we hope to bring success and longevity to Kaby Arena.
Q3. What are the major milestones Kaby Arena achieved so far & what are in the future pipeline?
Ans — The most important milestone for our project so far is the successfully closure of our private and public fundraising round with total of $1.6M capital raised. - About the game development, we are using an internal test client to balance the game. We will continue working on finalizing details and add more features. One of the most time consuming aspect right now is the design & artwork. However we have pride in our design team and we think that is one of our best selling points. From now on until the official launch and even after that, we will continue to expand our team of artists to provide you guys an amazing game!
- As for future roadmap, we are preparing for a batch of NFTs sale next week. In October, we will launch a demo version for every players to experience the game first hand. The PvE mode will start in November, and PvP mode in December together with a dev workshop to receive feedback from the community.

Q1. You say that players will start with basic non-NFT heroes that will be free, but will all heroes really be basic, or can we also start with other premium NFT heroes for a minimal cost? If so, could you tell us what those heroes would be and how we can get them?
Ans — Yes, everyone can start playing Kaby Arena with basic non-NFT heroes. You can also get a head start with NFT heroes.
Today, we’ve announced our first sales of NFT heroes. Which includes two batches: Genesis and Exodus with a total of 10,000 heroes.

While basic heroes will have the rarity of 1 star, this batch of NFT heroes will offer some percentage of higher rarity. The higher the rarity the stronger their skills will be!
Q2. Something on your website that got my attention was the next sentence: “you start playing a game for fun, in the end, you become a crypto market guru”. Does this mean that Kaby Arena is suitable for non-crypto players? How do you attract and educate gamers unfamiliar with crypto?
Ans — We planned to slowly introduce non-crypto players with gamified market prediction, under the name of “Crypto War”.
Crypto Wars is a free feature that we open to any players to motivate them on researching the crypto market.
The mechanism works on a weekly basis as follow:
- Players pair each hero in their inventory with one cryptocurrency at the beginning of the week.
- During that week, any fluctuation in the market price/volume of the chosen crypto will give different bonuses to the hero. If the crypto goes up, your hero gets stronger and vice versa.
- At the end of the week, everything reset and players can setup new pairings again.
To maintain game balance, these bonuses given by cryptocurrency will be capped to a reasonable number. This mechanism is the unique feature that sets us apart from other NFTs games. It creates a connection between gameplay and the crypto market, and serves as an incentive for pure gamers who are unfamiliar with crypto to learn about our market.
Q3. NFT gaming particularly those featuring a Play-to-Earn mechanism is clearly the new trend these days. KabyArena appears to have this as a strong suit. Can you explain KabyArena Play-to-Earn mechanism in more details and how users can generate passive income from this model?
Ans — Our play-to-earn mechanism is open to every players, F2P or Premium. There are multiple ways for the players to start earning:
1. By completing daily objectives through PvE mode. Premium players can have higher cap for maximum earn per day.
2. There will be drop such as treasure chests which contain heroes, cosmetics, etc. You can sell these on our marketplace for profit. Furthermore, non-NFT heroes can also be minted into profitable NFT with a fee.
3. By waging and winning against other players in PvP match. To ensure fairness, we will arrange similar rank players to match to each other.
4. By winning tournaments hosted by us. At the later phrase of the game, we will host weekly tournaments, the winner will take the prizes. There will be also quarterly and annual tournament which will be much more competitive. However, if you have solid skills and a bit of luck it’s an open opportunity for you.
You can also stake $KABY tokens for passive income. If you have unused NFT heroes, you can rent them out too!
Q4. I saw that on Kaby Arena users can put their assets for rent with high credibility. Can you tell us more about this? How will this rent feature exactly work on your platform? What does it mean that it will have “High credibility” and what benefits will that bring to players?
Ans — Renting is a way for NFT owner to make profit from their unused NFT and a way for F2P players to experience the NFT with minimum fee.
We offer two method of renting:
- Peer-to-peer: renting through smart contract directly between the users. To avoid risk for both parties, a collateral is required. Oftenly, the collateral is higher than the value of the rented NFT. It will be locked during the rent duration and will be awarded to the owner of the NFT if the renter fails to return the item.
- Kaby Games Inc as a trusted 3rd party: no collateral is required. The NFT will be locked by us, a non-tradeable copy will be sent to the renter. This method is cheaper than the previous.
Q5. I read that free to play players also get a chance to try out free non-NFT heroes for a demo match. Which is great, but what limitations will they impose so as not to create discontent and keep F2Ps comfortable without investing?
Ans — Our game is open to every players. The only difference between F2P and Premium players are the time-gated content. For example, Premium players can open loot-boxes right away while there is a daily limit for F2P.
The second point is that Premium players have already invested in the game, therefore can earn more. We will impose a higher cap of $KABY that can be earned a day for Premium players.

Q2. Do you have AUDIT certificates, or are you working to AUDIT your project, to make it more secure and reliable?????

Q3. You mentioned that you put heavy emphasis on anti-scripting. Will you integrate the anti-scripting mechanism into the gameplay? What will that mechanism be like?
Ans — Kaby Arena is Free-to-Play. Therefore, we put heavy emphasis on anti-scripting. Not only that, we will also integrate the anti-scripting mechanism into the gameplay.
For example, during any battle, players would have to perform a certain quick time action to receive bonuses such as buff/debuff or critical strikes.
If a player failed to perform the action several times in a row, the account would be flagged as suspicious and blocked from action for the rest of the day. Further investigation would be performed to determine permanent ban.
Q4. Could you detail us what will be the usefulness of Kaby Arena’s native tokens in each of its games and the ecosystem in general? And also, where can we trade them to incorporate them into their games?
Ans — $KABY is our main currency with the supply of 1B tokens.
$KABY can be used to:
- Exchange for resources or in-game upgrades.
- Speed up time-gated content.
- Mint NFT from free heroes.
- Buy/rent NFT assets.
- Open loot-boxes.
- Wage against other players in PvP battles.
